It's far too early in the morning, to be calling
'Acerbic' is a strange word, fully accepting and embracing of how intensely mongrel-ish it is. That mudblooded lovechild of 'assorted', 'acidic', 'asserted', and 'sherbet'. But the meaning of the word, a·cer·bic /əˈsərbik/ (Adjective): (esp. of a comment or style of speaking) Sharp and forthright, fits snugly into the smell and shape of the word itself.

Acerbic.
Hmmm- I've never thought of this before, but I suspect this is one of those words you simply Have to pronounce right.
It really wouldn't transplant neatly into South african soil.
:)
(I like the expression that goes with it. Deliciouly tart.)
